How Do Animals Move??

As you know, we are learning about animals - farm animals in particular! Today we did a science activity to go along with our exploration of animals! In science we are learning about "How Things Move." We had great discussions about how people move and all the types of ways how animals move, too!  
We read: My Very First Book of Motion by Eric Carle We talked about how animals move by:  - jumping - hopping - swimming - running - climbing - flying - flipping - strutting - crawling - waddling - sliding We also talked about how humans can move using some of these movements, too!  We had so much fun pretending to be animals as we tried different movement skills around our classroom!  Afterwards, we talked about how humans move! We learned a song called, "The Grand Old Duke of York." We sang this song with all our different movements with thought of! We came up with this list:
